I would not say Kilgore Texas is a food meca, but for 12 thousand people you have decent options. I wanted to share a dinner dessert pairing if you want to walk downtown Kilgore one evening.

Napolis Italian restaurant has reasonably priced reasonably flavoured italian food with delicious free bread rolls and a bring you own bottle policy.

Toilet trained rescue kitten

about 8 months ago we adopted a rescue kitty from the local humane society. just adorable little ball of grey fur.

 we did not want to have a litter box in a tiny apartment, we got a little quitter as a gift from a friend and begun to toilet train or rescue kitty.

I don't have any photos of the first two stages. Here he is a much biger cat taking a poop in the green no litter stage.

Now he is fully using the toilet with no additional equipment.

I realize this is not instructions, we just did what the litter kwitter said to do, did a bit of googling when we had problems and spent months working with our cat to get fully trained. In the end it was entirely worth it to have a litter free apartment.

hands down the best pizza i've found in longview texas. peter king the real classic old school pizza house you can pick up Or dine in, both which are amazing. Located on historic highway 80 its worth a stop if you have time.

very small town, very quaint decor, at less than 10 dollars A Meal with sweet tea and a corn bread sandwich, kits is a real find the historic Jefferson tx.

White chocolate bread pudding

A new years treat after a long travel and moving filled two days we went hunting for a restaurant that we have not yet been to. We found ourselves at the historic Johnny Caces. Full New Years festivities were underway with punch and champagne for those waiting on tables, live music in the lobby and the place was just packed. Great food, quality service and even some conversation with the gentleman at the table next to us made this place a win. The price accurately reflected the quality of food but by far the highlight of the night was the white chocolate bread pudding.


If you are in longview you MUST have the white chocolate bread pudding from Johnny Caces

Chimp Haven

Heard a great story on NPR a while back on Chimp Haven. Found out is only a few hours drive from East Texas. They have limited viewing opportunities but if your moving into the area it would be a good thing to put on your to do list. I have not gone yet but hope to visit sometime this upcoming year.
